I’ve been making digital art in various forms since 2007, and I’ve spent much of that time working as a professional graphic designer and illustrator. I’ve created artwork for films that have appeared on the BBC and written Photoshop tutorials for publications like Web Designer Magazine.
I started the Lionheart project in 2021 as a means of artistic exploration and escape during pandemic lockdowns. These are themes that permeate the work – a lot of my art is surreal or sci-fi inspired so you’ll see lots of space, stars, and clouds mixed with mundane or everyday elements and landscapes. This project has been featured in publications like The Flying Fruit Bowl.
The art style varies from piece to piece but all of the pieces are the result of digital photo collage and manipulation in Photoshop.
In 2022, I started to experiment with ai-generated art — most notably Midjourney — which has allowed me to expand the possibilities of my digital collage and photo compositing work by creating totally original assets, designed for purpose. I’ve also been working on my prompt crafting skills, learning how to generate a more complete image without the need for compositing or post production work.
